Five At-Home Workouts That Actually Work
We have officially made it through another week, and I for one cannot wait for the weekend! I’m especially excited because I’ll be heading back home to Chicago next Friday and I’m SO HYPED. Honestly y’all, nothing beats that giddy feeling I get in my belly when I get to go home and see my family. I love traveling and seeing new places, but home will always be Chicago (…and Lou Malnati’s deep dish pizza…#Iaintsorry). Anyways, as some of y’all may know, I’ve been making an effort to be healthier this year, and surprisingly I’ve been keeping my new year’s resolutions. I’m not going to sit here and pretend to eat healthy everyday and workout everyday because I don’t. Let’s face it, college is hard and you can’t always make it to the gym or make a healthy meal.
I’m slowly learning how this whole healthy living thing is supposed to go, and quite frankly I’ve been feeling pretty good. I have a lot more energy, I have a normal sleeping schedule, I’m happy and above all I’ve really been more mindful of the things that I ingest. Exercising and eating healthy can be a struggle, but I try to remind myself that everything is a process and Rome wasn’t built in a day. At times I can’t always make it to the gym so I have to improvise. Want to know what the best workout resource is? YouTube! I definitely prefer structured cardio workouts over a treadmill and weights. There’s something about a good cardio workout that gets me in my zone! After doing cardio, I’m always left feeling more energized and refreshed than I did coming in.
Finding a workout online can be a bit challenging because there are so many workouts to choose from (like..legit thousands). I always tend to prefer cardio workouts that are quick (no more than 30-45 minutes) and high intensity. If you follow me on snapchat (danieeesandifer…shamless plug, I know), then you probably saw that I did one of these workouts the other night. I was randomly up at 1 am on a Friday night, and I had a sh*t ton of energy. I hadn’t been to the gym, and I knew I wasn’t about to walk there during that time of night. So, I improvised. Y’all, I have never been so sore in my life! Because I loved this workout so much, I figured I’d make a blog post revolving around some of my favorite online workouts. I’m by no means a “fitness expert”, but I thought that I could at least share some of the workouts that I’ve been enjoying. I’m nowhere near where I want to be, but I’ve been extremely happy with the slow and steady progress I’ve been making!
1. Tae Bo Advanced Burnout (30 minutes)
2. Popsugar Fitness Cardio and Sculpting (45 minutes)
3. Popsugar Pilates Cardio Workout (30 minutes)
4. Jessie James Decker Workout Routine (20-30 minutes)
5. Fitness Blender Home Cardio Workout (32 minutes)
I hope this post was helpful for you! Working out is not always fun, but hell, we all need to be healthy so we gotta do it! If you can’t make it to the gym, these are great places to start. If you feel yourself getting tired while doing these exercises, take a break, get some water and get back to it! It’s okay if you can’t get through the whole workout without stopping the first few times. The ultimate goal is to do a little more than you did the day before so that eventually you’ll be able to get through this with no trouble. This is how you get better and stronger! I’ve never really done fitness posts in the past, but it’s definitely something I want to incorporate into my blog. Let me know if you try one of these workouts (I love hearing your feedback)! Have a great weekend and I’ll see y’all next week!
